The Boot Camp partition can be removed and an Erase/Install (like a factory reset) performed, but no one will be physically harmed. Therefore, if you want to remove Windows and keep your data intact, you should choose to install Windows in a partition. ![]() However, if you choose to have Windows take over the entire hard drive, then the only way to remove Windows is to reinstall OS X, which will erase everything on the hard drive in the process. If you choose the latter option, then you can easily remove Windows later by simply deleting the Windows partition. ![]() When you install Windows on a Mac using Boot Camp, you can choose to have Windows either take over the entire hard drive, or to install itself in a partition that you create. ![]()
